Care reviewed 2026-10-04 · Scope: genus-and-cultivars

Call the full collection 'eight plants', not 'eight species'. Do not assign every cultivar the same exact mature dimensions.

Find the right light.

Tolerates lower light; indirect sunlight supports better flowering. Protect from harsh direct sun.

Low-light tolerance never means a dark room. Observe the actual plant position across the day and through the seasons.

Water by observation.

Keep the mix moist but not waterlogged. Check the pot's moisture rather than waiting for severe wilting.

A fixed weekly watering schedule cannot account for your light, temperature, pot or mix. Check moisture and drainage before deciding to water.

Give it room.

Upright leafy growth; mature size varies substantially by cultivar. Best for someone who checks moisture consistently.

Living with pets

Insoluble calcium oxalates can irritate the mouth and cause drooling, vomiting or difficulty swallowing. It is not a true Lilium lily, but still is unsuitable for pets to chew.

These notes do not identify a plant. Check its scientific name with the seller. Any chewed plant may cause stomach upset; contact your local veterinarian if ingestion is suspected.
