IndoorJungle selected this subset, normalized field names, and added independently authored English search labels. No affiliation or endorsement claimed. The GBIF API target is a moving checklist, not a release-pinned endpoint. Registry release is recorded as observed; raw responses with retrieval dates and hashes are the exact cached evidence. Catalogue of Life direct website may already offer a newer release.
The published subset contains 94 accepted species and 18 selected verified synonyms. The exact API responses are preserved with retrieval timestamps and hashes in the maintenance source. No occurrence locations or botanical photographs were imported. Missing care data is not inferred.

Sixteen original editorial profiles summarize facts from university extension resources, RHS guidance and ASPCA. Each profile links its particular sources and review date. These sites are publicly readable; their prose and images are not treated as an open bulk dataset. We do not republish their photographs or entire entries.
Pet-toxicity flags are tied to the named, reviewed source. Taxonomy cannot establish that a plant is safe to chew. A genus or cultivar profile is labelled for its scope and is not automatically joined to a species record.
Calculator methods
- Pot volume: cylinder, rectangular prism and frustum geometry with explicit headspace/root volume.
- Mix ratios: normalized loose-volume proportions and upward bag rounding.
- Daily light integral: PPFD × hours × 0.0036, linked to Purdue and Virginia Tech extension guidance.
- Air VPD: FAO-56 saturation vapour-pressure equation with measured temperature and relative humidity.
Each tool explains its inputs, units, worked example and limitations. Measurements are user-provided; no environmental sensors or live weather data are claimed.
Worldwide use, specific limits
The mathematics supports centimetres/inches and Celsius/Fahrenheit where relevant. Numbers use your browser locale. The interface and editorial search labels are English, with scientific botanical names; this is not a translated global care service. Regional availability, pests, import rules, hardiness, complete cultivars and local growing suitability are not included.
Typography
The site uses the open-source Bree Serif Regular for editorial headings and Manrope for interface text. Noto Sans Arabic, Devanagari, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese provide script companions. All are self-hosted under the SIL Open Font License 1.1; only needed Unicode ranges load. This is the open-source Bree Serif Regular release, not the commercial Bree family. Our two editorial photographs were generated specifically for IndoorJungle. They do not depict verified botanical specimens. The logo is an original ImageGen-designed identity; the functional diagrams are our own code-drawn artwork.
