Coverage is a curated subset. Labels are in English with scientific Latin names; the UI is not translated. Names do not establish geographic availability, named-cultivar identity, invasive status, import legality, toxicity or care. A named cultivar needs its own verified record; none is inferred from its parent species.
Two kinds of evidence.
Scientific names and synonyms come from a versioned taxonomy source. Care and toxicity notes are researched separately from horticultural institutions and ASPCA listings. Missing care means “not researched here,” never “safe” or “easy.”
For the care-profile subset, our plant finder checks light, growing space and selected care constraints. No useful light or an incompatible pet requirement can result in no match.
