Your check-in

You choose the next check date in your journal. It is a reminder to observe, not an instruction to water.

Feel, compare, observe.

A surface reading is only one clue; the root zone may still be moist. Different plants and substrates dry differently. Pot weight and the plant’s condition can add context.

Drooping and yellow leaves have several causes. This check records evidence and does not diagnose a problem or prescribe a watering interval.

A useful record

“Mix damp, pot heavier, leaves unchanged” is more informative than an automatic “water every Tuesday.” Save successive observations to learn how the plant responds in its actual room.
