Do not copy the source's month-based watering examples into a universal schedule.

Find the right light.

Bright indirect light is preferred; tolerates lower light. Strong direct sun can scorch leaves.

Low-light tolerance never means a dark room. Observe the actual plant position across the day and through the seasons.

Water by observation.

Allow the mix to dry between waterings. Water-storing rhizomes make it drought tolerant, but persistently wet roots are a problem.

A fixed weekly watering schedule cannot account for your light, temperature, pot or mix. Check moisture and drainage before deciding to water.

Give it room.

Slow-growing, upright foliage; NC State gives a mature height and width of roughly 60–120 cm. Suitable for a floor space or roomy stand.

Living with pets

ASPCA includes ZZ plants among plants with irritating insoluble calcium oxalate crystals. Keep away from pets that chew plants.

These notes do not identify a plant. Check its scientific name with the seller. Any chewed plant may cause stomach upset; contact your local veterinarian if ingestion is suspected.
