Make a mix.
Make it yours.

Turn parts into quantities. Change the ingredients, proportions and bag sizes to match the recipe you’ve chosen.

Set up your batch.

The starting ratio is a calculation example, not a universal recipe. Use a mix suitable for your plant, pot and environment.

Bag counts round up separately for each ingredient. They assume you have no leftover material. Adjust bag sizes to real local packaging.

Parts are proportions.

Three parts potting mix, one part perlite and one part bark becomes 60%, 20% and 20%. A 12 L batch therefore needs 7.2 L, 2.4 L and 2.4 L. The same scoop works for every ingredient. We scale the loose volumes, not weights.

Ingredients behave differently.

Particle size, composition and the way a mix settles all affect drainage and water retention. A bag labelled “potting mix” already contains a blend. Follow your plant’s needs and the product instructions.
